I located a website with a tutorial program (free) if you are interested in learning to sketch a Gothic rose.

I located another site about Gothic Arcitecture.  This site provided pictures and detailed information and photos of Gothic architecture.  For those of us not inclined to visit overseas to verify specific details in our WIP. This site will provide a great way to complete that scene.

President's Message for June 2016

Hello GothRom!

How many of you caught a glimpse of the Strawberry Full Moon during Summer Solstice?  I was fortunate to have a wonderfully view from by backyard.  Amazing.  The posted photographs did not do justice to the visual and emotional experience.

I wanted to take this time to remind everyone that it is membership renewal time.

Our Chapter continues to grow and I am proud to say our Twitter feed is now up and 'tweeting'.  And, of course, we have our facebook page, website, and our blog site.

Our chapter is support network to those authors as they write and submit for publication.

I know we had have our favorite 'classic' gothic novels we loved to read and re-read while we were growing up.

Hello GothRom!

I do hope your Holiday season was filled with love and laughter.

It is now 2016! Can you believe it? I wanted to take this time to thank each one of you for your dedication to GothRom. Our chapter continues to grow and it couldn’t do that without our dedicated volunteers and members in general.  

GothRom RWA where our motto is: “To encourage authors of  gothic romance through networking, and to provide inspiration and a support for publication."

Yes, dear readers, in other words--it is Monday.

This Monday's topic: "What is Gothic Romantic Fiction".

Gothic fiction is a genre of literature that combines elements of both horror and romance. As a genre, it is generally believed to have been invented by the English author Horace Walpole, with his 1764 novel The Castle of Otranto.

Prominent features of Gothic fiction include terror (both psychological and physical), mystery, the supernatural, ghosts, haunted houses and Gothic architecture, castles, darkness, death, decay, doubles, madness, secrets and hereditary curses.  ~ Excerpted from Gothic fiction on Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia.
